Subroto Bhattacharya is the new head of Zee TV USA

New York, Nov 20 (IANS) Subroto Bhattacharya is the new territorial head of the Zee TV's operations in North and South America, the Zee Group has announced.

Currently the territorial head of Zee TV Europe, Bhattacharya replaces Venkat Subramanian as head of Zee TV Americas. Under this position, he would be leading Zee TV's operations in the US, Canada, Caribbean and Latin America.

Bhattacharya, who joined the Zee group in 1996, was instrumental in setting the company's operations in the US in 1998. In 2004 he shifted to Europe in the current position.

'Bringing Subroto on board for Americas operations has been a conscious and strategic decision to strengthen a very strong leadership team at Zee TV USA,' said Bharat Kumar Ranga, COO of International Business, Zee TV.

While in Europe, Bhattacharya was instrumental in expansion of the Zee TV in new territories including launching of Zee Russia.

'Zee Russia is catering to the Russian speaking population and is gaining momentum in terms of distribution and popularity amongst all the international channels in Russia,' he said.

The popular news and entertainment channel from India, Zee TV has been in the US market for a decade now.
