Nigerian kidnappers threatened to kill three year old British girl

June 06: A criminal gang in Nigeria who has kidnapped a three year old British girl yesterday had meanwhile threatened her parents to kill their daughter unless the father of the child takes her place.

Earlier on Thursday, a crew of gunmen snatched the little girl named Margaret from the car carrying her to school from the notorious oil Delta region of the country.

The girl is the daughter of a British national, Mike Hill, who has married to a Nigerian. It is the second instant those criminals kidnapped children after last week’s incidence in which two Nigerian children were taken but later released unharmed.

With immediate diplomatic effort British government had informed Nigerian counter part to take immediate steps to ensure safe release of the child.

However, Nigerian police officials are yet to confirm about the kidnappers and they are in touch with the girl’s parents for all assistance.

In Nigeria a section of people who are against the privatization of oil firms demand a larger share of oil wealth for the impoverished region. Rebels are constantly against the government and hence kidnapping workers from the oil firms in the Delta region on a regular basis. But every time after receiving a ransom amount they release the workers.

Reportedly, kidnappers have given three hours time to her oil worker husband to take her daughter’s place. The police have so far no clue about the criminals involved. The government has appealed for the girl’s immediate release.
