New Delhi, Nov 17 (IANS) Delhi Police Commissioner Y.S. Dadwal Monday suspended the station house officer of Uttam Nagar police station for allowing a political party to erect a stage on the road for a public meeting.

'Uttam Nagar SHO, Parkash Chand Mann, was suspended by the Delhi Police commissioner Monday evening,' said Delhi Police's public relation officer Rajan Bhagat.

'The SHO in question had allowed a political party to erect a stage on the road during a public meeting in his area, leading to a huge traffic jam and problems for commuters,' the police said.

The political party had taken permission for the public meeting to address voters for the Nov 29 elections. However, the party workers erected a stage on the road against the rules.
