Retired policeman robbed in Delhi bus
New Delhi, Nov 17 (IANS) A retired Delhi Police sub-inspector was robbed Monday by unidentified assailants of Rs.25,000 in a moving Blueline bus in north Delhi, police said.
The incident occurred at Subzi Mandi area at about 10.30 a.m. when the victim, Balwant Singh, 60, was travelling in the bus plying on route no. 127 (Old Delhi Railway Station to Kingsway Camp), police said.
Singh realised his money had been stolen when he checked his pocket at the Roshnara Road roundabout. He raised an alarm and asked the driver to stop the bus but by then the culprits had managed to flee, police said.
Deputy Commissioner of Police (North) Sagar Preet Hooda said: 'We have registered a case of pickpocketing and are trying to trace the culprits.'
