Israeli tourists experience mini-Israel in Kasol

Kasol (Himachal Pradesh), June 26 (ANI): Encouraged by the inflow of tourists from Israel, almost all the hotels, restaurants and shops of Kasol village in Himachal Pradesh have displayed boards in Hebrew language.

Kasol, a village situated in Parvati valley near Manikaran, 40 km away from Kullu, has become a favourite destination for tourists, especially those coming from Israel.

Israeli tourists are coming here in large numbers, which has turned this small village into a 'mini Israel'.

The residents have developed all facilities needed by the Israelis.

The signboards outside shops in this village are written in Hebrew, so that these tourists can easily read and understand. Moreover, the foods served here in the restaurants include Israeli cuisines.

"In Kasol, lot of boards are written in Hebrew language which makes it easier for Israelis to read and understand them, as many do not understand English. All the restaurant owners and guesthouse owners fully cooperate with them," said Hira Lal, a hotelier.

"The main reason for so many Israeli tourists coming here is that they are basically inspired by scenic beauty. They mostly visit villages at the backyard," said Jagat Ram, Superintendent of police, District Kullu.

Every year thousands of Israeli tourists visit this village during tourist season between March and November.

Kasol is amongst the many splendid spots in the Kullu valley. It is a paradise for anglers as it offers excellent opportunities for trout fishing. By Prem Thakur (ANI)
