Voting suspended at Kashmir polling station after violence

Srinagar, Nov 17 (IANS) Polling was suspended in one booth in Jammu and Kashmir's Sonawari constituency after seven people were injured in a clash between supporters of the National Conference (NC) and the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) .

 

Supporters of the two parties clashed at the Poshpora polling station in Sonawari, some 40 km from Srinagar, forcing the authorities to suspend polling there.

 

 

The workers of both the parties entered the polling station and destroyed some electronic voting machines.

 

 

Amongst the seven people injured was the son of the contesting NC legislator Muhammad Akbar Lone.
