After flood, Orissa under threat of epidemic
Basta (Orissa), June 26 (ANI): The flood ravaged areas in Orissa are under threat of possible outbreak of diseases due to lack of healthcare facilities as floodwaters recede.
The villagers having lost their mud houses to the floods are beset with problems of availability of food, medicines and potable water.
All these commodities are scarce and are hitting them hard.
"We are facing lots of problem related to food and medicine. Children are suffering from fever. No body has come here. We go to far-off places to get water and medicines," said Sunita, a villager of Basta.
However, the authorities say that the work of rehabilitation and provision of food and medicines are in full swing.
