Polling station for five voters in Ladakh
Srinagar, Nov 15 (IANS) A polling station in Kashmir's Leh constituency has only five voters on its rolls.
Thukjay Gonpa polling station of the Leh assembly constituency has the smallest number of five voters who will exercise their franchise Monday during the first round of the seven-phase election in Kashmir, an official said.
In Nobra, a polling station has been set up for just 14 voters (seven males and seven females) and 24 polling staff, including security men, have been deployed for this station.
Two of the highest altitude polling stations are in the Nobra and Leh assembly constituencies of the Ladakh district. Fastan is located at 17,000 feet and Anlay Fu is situated at a height of 16,400 feet above the sea level.
The seven-phased polls are being held in Jammu and Kashmir - Nov 17, 23, 30 and Dec - 7, 13, 17, 24.
