Jammu, Nov 14 (ANI): Jammu and Kashmirs' National Conference partys' patron Dr. Farooq Abdullah said on Friday that Omar Abdullah's request to the Election Commission to postpone the state assembly elections due to the inclement weather is totally justified, and added that they wouild not shy away from the election like Peoples' Democratic Party (PDP) tried to.

Farooq said in an interview here today that the vagaries of weather will not permit the poll process to be conducted smoothly. He added that the electorate will not be able to exercise their franchise and the political parties will face problems while campaigning in view of the snowfall not only in the upper reaches of the valley but also in Srinagar which has never witnessed such heavy snowfall in the mid of November.

He said the unexpected weather conditions have compelled us to urge the Election Commission to postpone the elections despite the fact that the mood of the electorate is overwhelmingly in favour of the National Conference.

Dr. Abdullah further said that the poll boycott call given by the separatists is not going to have much impact but feared that weather can prove a spoilsport.

In his reaction to Colonel Prohit's confession in Malegaon blast, Dr. Abdullah said that being a Defense Committee member of the Parliament he is worried that the army personnel who seized the Chinese grenades and RDX from Pakistan backed ultras is directing the same towards his fellow citizens.
