Delhi Governor called on Minister of Water Resources
Lieutenant Governor of NCT of Delhi, Shri Tejendra Khanna on Friday (June 20) called on Union Minister of Water Resources, Prof. Saifuddin Soz, on 20.06.2008 regarding the necessity for expeditious construction of Renuka Dam in Himachal Pradesh and other related issues.
Renuka Dam has been included by the Government of India as a National Project, wherein 90% of the cost of drinking water and irrigation would be provided by the Central Government.

The issue of construction of a barrage at Palla across river Yamuna in NCT of Delhi also came up for discussion.
Further, Delhi raised the issue of sharing of savings of water due to construction of carrier lined channel from Munak on Western Yamuna Canal to Haiderpur, which is under construction and the cost of which is being met by the Govt. of NCT of Delhi.
The Govt. of NCT of Delhi was requested to send a formal note to the Ministry of Water Resources on the aforementioned issues and the Union Minister of Water Resources assured the Lt. Governor of Delhi that the issues would be studied and all possible help would be extended by the Ministry of Water Resources.
