London, Nov 14 (ANI): Jo O'Meara, who had become a virtual recluse following the racist bullying of Bollywood actress Shilpa Shetty in the Celebrity Big Brother house in 2007, has been admitted to hospital after she was hit on the head with a bottle during a reunion gig.
The 'What Do You Want from Me' hitmaker collapsed in a pool of blood soon after being hit by a punter in Bradford, which is full of Asians, who reportedly are angry at O'Meara Big Brother antics.
The 29-year-old staggered to the side of the stage before being taken to a hospital in the city.
"Whoever booked her to appear in Bradford must be mad. The city is well known for its Asian community, which is still angry over her Big Brother antics," The Daily Star quoted a source, as saying.
However, a 19-year-old man arrested at the scene denied targeting Jo, insisting it had been an "accident". He was being quizzed by police yesterday.
"We had the S Club Tour at our Oldham club. It sold out, so we rebooked them for Bradford," Club owner Arron Mellor said.
"It was going really well until one individual spoiled the fun. Jo, Bradley and Paul are the nicest people and I will be booking them in for my other sites," he added. (ANI)
