Bihar's chief minister editing state's report card

Patna, Nov 14 (IANS) A report card to be released on the completion of three years of the Bihar government was being edited by Chief Minister Nitish Kumar himself, an official said Friday.

"Unlike other politicians, Nitish Kumar is personally editing a report card of his government's three years in office," a senior leader of Bihar's ruling Janata Dal - United (JD-U) said here Friday.

A draft report card was prepared by a team of top officials along with some experts from various fields to highlight major achievements of the government led by Nitish Kumar in the last three years.

But the chief minister, an engineer turned politician, was neither impressed nor satisfied by the draft report.

"After going through it, he wanted to add and remove something in the report and decided to edit it," an official in chief minister's office said.

"He is busy editing the report before it finally goes for printing," the official said.

The report card is scheduled for release Nov 24, when the Nitish Kumar government completes three years.

'Now his focus is on editing the report card and making it free of factual and language errors," an official said.

Unlike last two years, this time the report card is important for Nitish Kumar in view of the forthcoming parliamentary elections that are due next year.

His report card is likely to highlight communal harmony in the state and schemes started for the development and welfare of minorities, Dalits, backward castes and women.

The Nitish Kumar government has been releasing a report after completing every year in office.
