Talent to be rewarded at Bal Bhawan by the President
The President, Mrs. Pratibha Devi Singh Patil is to present the prestigious Bal Shree Award to fifty children from all over the country in four different streams. The award ceremony is to be held at Rashtrapati Bhawan on Tuesday. Three children among the awardees are from special category.
The Bal Shree Scheme aims at seeking and identifying the hidden creativity amongst children.

It believes that children are the backbone of our society and that there must be some organisation in work for the enhancement of their creative skills and their personality development.
The age group of all the participants is from 9-16 and the categories to be rewarded are creative performance, creative art, creative scientific innovations and creative writing.
Bal Bhawan caters to educational, social, psychological and aesthetic needs. The development of a country depends upon the creative vision and creative striving of its people. And thus the National Bal Bhawan works as a catalyst for the same. There is a declaration by Mr. Arjun Singh assuring the opening of 100 Bal Bhawans throughout the country.
