But the family of Mr Pandya is not satisfied with the judgment as according to them it was a political motive and the prime culprit has not come into the frame.
Pandya was killed on March 26, 2003 while seating in his car but both the forensic and post-mortem reports were suspicious. According to his widow, Haren Pandya was not communal and hence there is no question that he was murdered by Muslims. Citing loopholes in CBI probe, the family of Pandya has today demanded reinvestigation of the case.
All 12 accused were arrested by CBI from Hyderabad and Gujarat, and later CBI proved that all have terrorist links. Only Asghar Ali the prime accused found guilty in this very particular case but other found culpable in various other cases under Prevention of Terrorism Act (POTA) and sentenced accordingly.
The families of the accused who believed that they are innocent and also planning to move Gujarat High Court and challenge the decision. Meanwhile a Muslim political party of Hyderabad named Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (MIM) is also planning to appeal for the same.
Considering all latest developments it seems that the case may have something more to reveal in the coming days if the request of reinvestigation is granted.
