Kissing nurse in iconic 1945 V-J Day Times Square photo gets another smooch
New York, November 11 (ANI): Edith Shain, the famed kissing nurse in the iconic 1945 Times Square photograph, recently got a smooch from another young man in New York, where she had arrived to serve as a grand marshal in Tuesday's Veterans Day Parade.
Nick Mayo, 25, who plays sailor Richard West in the Lincoln Center production of 'South Pacific', was the man in uniform who gave the 90-year-old a long dip backstage.

The guys laughed and chatted with Shain, lifting her for a classic Broadway pose.
"We can do this all day," the New York Daily News quoted Victor Hawks, 32, who plays Stew Pot, as saying.
He said that it was really very wonderful to meet Shain.
"It puts everything in perspective," said Hawks, whose parents have a print of the famed photo up in their Chicago home.
Shain recalled the celebratory kiss, and said that she regretted never getting the sailor's number.
"In retrospect, I should have said, 'Hey, wait a minute!'" said the woman who was a nurse in the now-demolished Doctors Hospital on the East Side. (ANI)
