Frederick Forsyth to hit Colombian cocaine traffic alleys for next thriller
London, November 10 (ANI): Best-selling novelist Frederick Forsyth is set to put his life on the line for his next thriller - by trying to break into groups of cocaine traffickers.
The 70-year-old will take to the dangerous alleys to narrate a first-hand experience for his future thriller set in the underworld of drug dealers.
"I'm hoping to talk to what you might call friends in low places. These are out-and-out gangsters, really dangerous people," the Daily Express quoted him as telling at the London launch of scriptwriter and novelist Julian Fellowes' book 'Past Imperfect'.
"But I find that being a writer truly does open doors," he added.
The English author, best known for his thrillers such as 'The Day of the Jackal', 'The Dogs of War' and recently 'The Afghan', humoured his life-threatening decision.
He said: "I'm hoping things may work my way again with the Cocaleros, or cocaine dealers of Bogota, and that they'll grant me access. If I come back in a box, they didn't!" (ANI)
