Aarushi murder case: Maya removes cops involving in probe

As the Central Bureau of investigation (CBI) took over the investigation of Aarushi murder case, the Uttar Pradesh government on Sunday removed three of the top cops involved in the probe.


Chief Minister and BSP supremo Mayawati in a press conference announced the transfer of three senior police officers who were investigating the Noida double murder case since the case broke out on May 16.

 


The cops removed with immediate effect include IG Gurdarshan Singh Meerut Zone; DIG P C Meena and Gautam Buddha Nagar (Noida) SSP A Satish Ganesh.


Mayawati administration requested for a high-level CBI in the probe, which was turned down, but later Centre agreed and CBI took over the case from the UP police.


Mayawati in a press conference said: “I want to extend full support to the CBI in the probe and at the same time I don’t want anyone to blame either police or state authority, I want truth to come out in the case”.


Now as of now, after taking initial information from the state police and officer so far involved in the probe, the central agency would conduct the entire inspection of its own.


14-year-old school girl Aarushi Talwar was found murdered in her Noida resident on May 16 and a day later police recovered the dead body of house servant Hemraj from the terrace of same home, who was initially termed as the prime suspect by Noida police.


The entire investigation so far conducted by Noida police has brought severe criticism from all quarters, which is why the family later the UP government demanded an impartial by the federal investigative agency, CBI.


CBI at present has registered cases against Rajesh Talwar – father of Aarushi – who was sent for a three-day judicial custody and also on Sunday questioned Aarushi’s mother, house servant and others.


The police arrested the father for a possible angle of honour killing and as in its initial investigation police said that Aarushi had come to know about her father’s illicit affairs with doctor fellow Anita Durani.


Noida Police also said Dr Rajesh Talwar first killed Hemraj on the night of May 15 after founding him in Aarushi’s bedroom in an “objectionable but not compromising position”.


The case is now in constant media glare with criticism to UP police and also taking sensitive issues on its way.
