Washington, Nov.8 (ANI): Confronted with the United States' worst financial crisis since the 1929-30 Depression, President-elect Barack Obama is expected to assemble a broad based team of economic advisers, with an emphasis on Clinton-era veterans.
He has already chosen Illinois Representative Rahm Emanuel, a former adviser in the Clinton White House, as his chief of staff, and others in his circle of economic advisers include Robert Rubin, who served as Clinton's Treasury Secretary; Lawrence Summers, who headed the treasury department at the end of Clinton's administration; Laura D'Andrea Tyson, a senior economic adviser to President Clinton, and Jason Furman, who served as a special assistant on economic policy to President Clinton.
But some of his potential picks for top administration jobs might come as a surprise.
According to FOX News, Obama is weighing an array of Washington insiders and outsiders -- including some Republicans -- for top administration posts.
Obama has signaled that he will make no Cabinet-level appointments immediately.
Reports suggest that former Secretary of State Colin Powell could possibly serve as Education Secretary. (ANI)
