17 killed as passenger van crashes Mexico

Mexico City, Nov 8 (DPA) Seventeen people were killed and five injured Friday after a van they were travelling in crashed in a mountainous area in the southern Mexican state of Oaxaca, the state government said.
The accident took place in the Sierra Sur in Oaxaca, near the town of Santa Lucia Miahuatlan. The driver apparently lost control of the vehicle, civil protection authorities said.
