Seven killed in Rajkot road accident

Rajkot, Nov 7(IANS) Seven people, including two women, were killed and six injured when the speeding jeep, in which they were travelling, rammed into a parked truck in a Gujarat village Friday, the police said.

 

The impact of the accident was such that two bodies were flung away over 100 feet, the police said about the accident which occured around 4 a.m. near Tankara village, 40 km from this Gujarat city.

 

 

At least 15 people, including a family from Jaipur, were going to Gandhidham in the ill-fated jeep.

 

 

According to the police, the driver of the jeep couldn't see the truck that was stranded on the road because one of its tyres was punctured.

 

 

Five people died on the spot while two succumbed in a hospital.
