June 20: For the seventh consecutive week Spider-Man 3 called upon the movie buggers to stick and dangle in the movie theatres across the U.S. Spidey has amassed incredible revenue in the first seven weeks, approximately $330,021,137.
Sam Raimi, the director and screenplay writer, introducing a new black character, has done a real wonder with the camera in this action-adventure thriller. However with the release of new movies, Spider-Man 3 has now been pushed to the 10 th position in U.S. top 10 box office hits this week.
New entries this week include Andrew Fleming’s directed Nancy Drew and Tim Story’s directed Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer. The fantastic four endowed with extraordinary powers discover that there are more like them; some of them, Silver Surfer and Galactus, scheming to destroy the earth. With Emma Roberts as Nancy Drew, the movie is a good excitement packed with much drama and suspense. It was released on June 15. Fantastic Four, with beginners luck has started from position 1, whereas Nancy Drew remains on position 7
After the success of Ocean’s Eleven and Ocean’s Twelve, there is more than organised robbery in Ocean’s Thirteen. The star cast featuring the handsome George Clooney ( Daniel Ocean), Brad Pitt, Matt Damon, Al Pacino, Andy Garcia calls for a bigger audience. Ocean’s crew continue to amuse and entertain the audience with their charm and skills. Ocean’s Thirteen has moved up to number 2 in the box office hit list.
Other than sophisticated bank robbers the top ten list also features the pirates. Jack Sparrow, Captain Jack Sparrow (Johnny Deep) and Will Turner (Orlando Bloom) found themselves in a new adventure that takes them to the edge of the world. Johnny Depp, with all his crazy stuff, drives his fans mad. His performance and acting skills in the sequel have been amazing.
