CCEA approves integrated check posts

New Delhi, Nov 6 (ANI): The Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs (CCEA) today gave its approval for setting up integrated check posts at 13 identified entry points on the land borders of the country at a total cost of Rs.635 crore.

 

The integrated check posts shall be a sanitized zone with dedicated passenger and cargo terminals comprising adequate customs and immigration facilities, security and scanning equipments, health and quarantine facilities.

 

Passenger amenities like waiting areas, restaurants, rest rooms, duty -free shops, parking warehousing, container yards, offices of transport and logistics companies, banks and financial services, dormitories for drivers, and all related facilities like service stations, fuel stations, in a single complex equipped with state-of-the-art modern amenities.

 

A Land Port Authority of India is being established to undertake the construction, management and maintenance of integrated check posts for which a Bill is being introduced in the Parliament. (ANI)
