Not derailing Hyderabad Metro project, says Sreedharan
New Delhi, Nov 4 (IANS) A day after Andhra Pradseh government decided to sue him, Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) managing director E. Sreedharan Tuesday said he did not want to derail the Hyderabad Metro project.
'I don't want to derail the project in Hyderabad. I know that they want to sue me, not DMRC,' Sreedharan said on the sidelines of a press conference here.
The Andhra Pradesh government Monday said it had decided to sue Sreedharan for 'tarnishing its image' by frequently levelling 'false and baseless' charges against the Rs.121 billion Hyderabad Metro Rail project.
The state had appointed Sreedharan as the chief consultant for the project.
Sreedharan has alleged that providing contract to Maytas Metro Limited to execute the Hyderabad project lacked transparency.
'I don't want to go to the media for this. I will submit a report to the government and then everything will be clear,' he said.
The state government has asked the DMRC chief to apologies for his comments but Sreedharan has declined to do so.
