FICCI to form task force to work with PM's economic committee
New Delhi, Nov 4 (IANS) The Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI) will set up a task force to work with the special committee announced by Prime Minister Manmohan Singh to address the current economic crisis.
The task force will engage with all regional and other trade organisations, covering small and medium enterprises (SMEs) and exporters, and will apprise the government committee of the challenges of SMEs, exporters and other industry sectors, said a statement released by the FICCI.
'The committee would see representation from senior officials from chambers of commerce, industry associations, exporters, small, medium and large enterprises affiliated to the FICCI,' the chamber's president Rajeev Chandrasekhar said.
The task force will carry out nationwide surveys to assess trends in production, sales, exports and investments, and present the results to the government.
