39 dead in Philippines boat accident

Manila, Nov 4 (Xinhua) Thirty-nine people, including three infants, drowned and four went missing when a passenger boat capsized in the central Philippines Tuesday, the police said.

 

Navy divers rescued 76 people, they said.

 

 

The ferry, with 119 passengers on board, capsized off the central province of Masbate in strong winds in the afternoon, provincial police chief Reuben Sindac said.
