The conference to be started from May 03 is aimed to make suggestion to various nations to take steps to outdo this global issue.
The conference will be attended by over two hundred BAI representatives will also adopt Delhi Declaration on Climate Change and the Role of Law pledging to fill the role of defenders of public interest and rule of law.
The BAI members are looking for more rationalise view of the existing laws as many of these laws overlap each other and thus provide ample scope to the violators to escape easily from the clutches of the law.
For the first time lawyers from all over India will voice for the nature’s concern which has become one of the most burning issues in present world. The impact of global warming, the mass migration of people from coastal region and to review its impact on air, water, energy and natural resources has become the need of the time. BAI has also appealed to international community to enforce certain principles that are mandatory for all countries.
The members unanimously thumped for the strict implementation of the existing 200 environmental laws and the need to prepare a roadmap for global legal framework to safeguard our environments.
The role played by central/state/regional governments and municipal regulators was stressed who can facilitate the strict laws and regulation to reduce carbon emission to increase the energy efficiency of motor vehicles and to set up carbon markets.
BAI also asked government to work on global treaty to take immediate action and divert funds in new technologies to capture emissions of carbon dioxide and to start a global fund to assist countries to avoid deforestation.
Recent years have been the witness to climate change and its adverse effect on agriculture, environment and economies leading to chaos around the world with inflated food prices, temperature rise etc.
This is a noble gesture of BAI to put legal machinery in place to achieve the climate goals with reduction of carbon emission and management of water and other natural resources.
