Capital is once again gearing up for flamboyant days with the screening of special exposition of the entire Indian Panorama films of the International Film Festival of India (IFFI) from Friday at Siri Fort Auditorium.
The 8-day event from May 02-09 will screen 21 feature and 15 non-feature films under the title of “The Festival of Indian Panorama 2007.”
A great variety of mixed blend of commercial and classical, feature and non-feature films will be showcased to a large number of audiences. This package of Indian Panorama presents a wide spectrum of contemporary themes and treatments.
The film fiesta will open with Bagher Bacha, a non-feature film in Bengali language directed by Bishnu Dev Halder, while for the feature film section, the Ore Kadal a Malayalam film directed by Shyamaprasad will mark the opening streak.
The panorama also witnesses as the podium for the youth and fresh energy like Sameer Hanchate, Bhavana Talwar and Samir Chanda who will mark their debut as a director as well as the experienced stalwart like Adoor Gopalakrishnan and Budhadeb Dasgupta with their films Naalu Penungal and Ami Iyasin Aar Amaar Madhubala will come up with their established norms.
Biographies based on noteworthy Indian personalities like Naushad Ali, Pandit Ramnarayan, Mubarak Begum and Rajarshi Bhagyachandra will also find a place in the film festival.
Movies like Bagher Bacha, Hope Dies Last in War, Joy Ride, and Whose Land Is It Anyway will be the centre of attraction and not leave a single chance to exuberate the audience.
Two juries of eminent filmmakers for feature and non-feature films will select the whole package of Indian Panorama. K.S. Sethumadhavan, the renowned filmmaker will act as a head of the jury for the feature films and another renowned filmmaker Arun Khopkar will be the head of the jury for non-feature films.
Entry to venue
Entry to all film shows is free for the audience. The free of cost passes will be available at Siri Fort Auditorium counters from May 2-9, 2008 on ‘first come first served’ basis.

The Indian Panorama is one of the most significant sections of the International Film Festival of India, since its inception in 1978 with a view to represent the rich diversity present in the Indian cinema. Ever since the Indian Panorama section has been a regular feature of the International Film Festival of India.
