Arihant Club clinches Malhotra cricket title

Good bowling performance by left-arm spinner Saurav Kumar (4/25) and fine batting display by Lalit Chaudhary (40) and Aakash Yadav (39) helped Arihant Cricket club Quita DAV Nijamuddin beat Vidya Jain cricket Academy by 6 wickets to clinch the title of Kaviraj Khajan Chand Malhotra memorial cricket tournament played at the PGDAV College ground hereon Monday.

Chief Guest Vijay Kumar Malhotra gave away the prizes to the winners and runners-up. Org. secretary and Coach Kesar Chaudhary gave thanks to all players and guests. DDCA Gen. Sec. SP Bansal, Delhi Mayor Aarti Mehra, Ajay Kumar Malhotra, PK Jain (Principal PGDAV), Ex. Test player Nikhil Chopra and Arihant club President Rakesh Bansal, Vijay Bahadur Mishra were also present on the occasion.

Saurav Kumar has been adjudged Man of the final while Parth Rana, Manoj Chauhan and Aakash Yadav have been awarded Best batsman, Best bowler and Man of the tournament respectively.

A blazing century by Rajeev Bose (158) and superb bowling by Udit Sawhney (3/24) helped Prabhu Dayal Cricket Academy defeated Dev Cricket Academy by 194 runs in the league match of the United Cup Cricket tournament played at the Ashok Vihar ground.

Fine century by Shobhit Kaushik (100) and good bowling by Darshan Kajania (3/39) helped Telefunken Club beat Apson club by 3 wickets and entered the quarterfinals of the Ankit Lakhotia memorial cricket tournament played at the MMH college ground.

Shobhit was named Puma man of the match for his fine century knock.
