AAI crushes Indian Airlines in Institutional league

Airport Authority of India (AAI) team made mockery of its rivals by outplaying Indian Airlines 8-1 in an ‘A’ division super-league match of the annual DSA institutional league for the Chief Minister Cup played at the Ambedkar Stadium here on Friday.


With this win AAI took its tally to 10 points from five matches while Airline completed its league engagements with six points in as many number of games.

Kuldip Ekka started the onslaught for Airport Authority team as he put them ahead in the 3rd minute of the game. Kuldeep added one more in the 45th minute. The other scorers for the Sectt were Anupam (2) while Ashish Bhalla, Ashish Rawat Rattan and Vipin slotted one each to round off the tally.

In another match of the day, Chandan Singh struck the match-winner as Central Secretariat defeated Delhi Development Authority by a solitary goal to move into the finals of the ‘A’ division.

Central Secretariat made it to the final with 12 points from five matches while DDA finished with four points from five games.

The third match of the day played between AIIMS and Urban Development Ministry called off nine minutes before the scheduled time owing to the protest of fading light by AIIMS players.

AIIMS was leading 4-1 at that stage and the remaining nine-minute game will be played on Saturday.
