MTNL second quarter net down
New Delhi, Oct 30 (IANS) State-owned telecom services provider Mahanagar Telephone Nigam Ltd (MTNL) Thursday said its net profit declined marginally by 1.38 percent to Rs.918.6 million in the quarter ended Sep 30, against the Rs.931.5 million posted in the corresponding quarter last fiscal.
Total income rose to Rs.13.59 billion in the quarter under review, from Rs.13.32 billion in the corresponding period last year.
For the six-month ended Sep 30, MTNL reported a net profit of Rs.2.04 billion, a 5.79 percent growth over the year-ago period. The firm had a net profit of Rs.1.93 billion in the first half of previous fiscal.
During the six months period, the company's total income stood at Rs.23.71 billion against Rs.24.63 billion in the same period last year.
MTNL teamed up with Novatium, to provide a PC for Rs. 4500.
