Islamabad, Oct 29 (ANI): A ten-day exhibition of exquisite Indian saris, salwar kameez, jewellery and bags commenced here yesterday. And, it has turned out to a hit, attracting a large number of visitors.

The range included antique Parsi Garas, Gara borders and Gara salwar kameez suits, French chiffons, Lucknow saris and salwar kameez suits, Kantha saris and salwar kameez suits, Satya Paul's 'Crepe De-Chine' saris and salwar kameez suits and pure cotton saris.

Kersi Dubash from Mumbai is presenting a seamless transition from Indian Banarsi and Lucknawi formal and casual wear to expensive wedding saris and dinner wear under her brand named 'Nazakat Collections'.

Most of the saris were handmade and embroidered with traditional sari blouses having embellishment of pearls, crystals, beads and sequence work.

The clothes were an amalgamation of hues, ravishing and glittering styles with pale and vibrant shades on heavy and light fabrics such as silk, chiffon, crepe, cotton, and chickenkari.

In jewellery, a wide range of pure and 'Jodha Akbar Kundan' jewellery collection is mostly in demand.

Dubash showcases jewellery studded with diamonds, emeralds, rubies, sapphires, tanzanite and semi-precious stones.

"I have been visiting Pakistan for over a decade now, and I always feel pleasant to be here to display my collection exclusively designed for females. Since both countries' culture, traditions and folklore are same and so is the code of dressing. And my work has always been appreciated by Pakistani women," The Daily Times quoted Dubash as saying.

Bangles, bracelets, rings, earrings, pendants and bridal sets are also on display.

The exhibition will last till November 7, before being held in Lahore, Karachi and Peshawar. (ANI)
