Defender Swati Rawat has been named as the skipper of 20-member squad of U-17 girls Delhi state team. The team will be participating in the 4th Girls Sub-Junior National Football Championship 2007-2008, scheduled to be held, at Diphu, Assam from April 25 to May 11.
Suhani Bedi was named as her deputy. The team has been finalised after a 20-day open trials-cum-coaching camp conducted by the Delhi Soccer Association (DSA).
Twenty-four state teams will vie for top honours in this championship and the teams have been divided in eight clusters. Delhi will start its campaign against formidable West Bengal team on April 26. Mizoram is the other strong team placed in the cluster
