AIIMS rallies to hold AAI
Spirited performance put up by the players of All-India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) as they rallied to hold Airports Authority of India (AAI) for a 1-1 draw in the ‘A’ division league match of the Delhi Soccer Association (DSA) annual institutional football championship for Chief Minister Cup played at the Ambedkar Stadium here on Thursday.
After an insipid first half Rattan broke the deadlock in the 60th minute to take AAI ahead, but the celebrations were soon put off when Arun Kumar restored parity for AIIMS seven minutes later.
In another match, Yajuvendra Rawat scored the all-important match-winner in the latter half as Central Secretariat defeated Urban Development Ministry by a solitary goal.
In another match of the day, Indian Airlines registered a 2-1 win over Delhi Development Authority (DDA) thanks to goals by Mahender and Rajiv while Ankit reduced the margin for the losing side.
