Five Hizb militants killed in Jammu region

Jammu, Oct 27 (IANS) Five militants of the Hizbul Mujahideen were killed by Indian Army soldiers in Jammu and Kashmir's Kishtwar district Monday morning.
Acting on a tip-off, the army laid a cordon to nab militants said to be hiding in Metwan in the forested mountains of Kishtwar, about 240 km from here, a spokesperson said.

'We established contact with the group of militants early Monday morning which led to fire-fighting,' he said, describing it as a big success in the run up to elections in the state.
The identity of the killed militants was being ascertained.
