FCI (HQ), Audit post facile wins
Former champions Food Corporation of India (FCI), North Zone, Delhi Audit and FCI (H. Qrs.) registered comfortable victories against their respective opponents in the senior division super league of the DSA institutional football league for the Chief Ministers Cup played at the Ambedkar Stadium here on Wednesday.
In the day’s first match, Sanjeev Bhalla netted the match-winner for defending champion Food Corporation of India (FCI), North Zone that prevail 2-1 over Employees State Insurance Corporation (ESIC).
Manish surged FCI ahead in the 13th minute as they maintained their lead till first half.
But on changing the ends, Chander Mohan restored parity for ESIC in the 47th minute but the smiles of levelling the terms in the faces of ESIC players were short-lived as Sanjeev Bhalla struck the match-winner a minute later to seal the match in FCI (NZ) favour.
In another match, Delhi Audit blanked Oriental Bank of Commerce 3-0 riding on a goal each scored by their seasoned players Subhash Negi, Sameer Jung and Hitender Rawat. In the last match of the day, Amit Rawat’s fine brace led FCI, Headquarters to beat Reserve Bank of India 2-0.
