Raipur, Oct 25 (IANS) Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Raman Singh filed nomination papers Saturday for the Rajnandgaon assembly seat that will go to the polls Nov 14.

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP)-ruled state will see polls Nov 14 for 39 seats while elections will be held for the remaining 51 seats Nov 20.

Singh described the day as the 'turning point of his life'.

The Rajnandgaon seat is held by the Congress, which has nominated its sitting legislator Uday Mudliar to take on Raman Singh.

This is the third time in a row that Singh has shifted his constituency.

He successfully contested an assembly bypoll from Dongargaon in 2004 while he lost on his home turf Kawardha to the Congress in 1998.
