St. Petersburg (Russia), Oct 25 (IANS) India's Rohan Bopanna and his Belarusian partner Max Mirnyi stormed into the semi-finals of St Petersburg Open, knocking off local pair Igor Kunitsyn and Marat Safin here.
The unseeded Bopanna and Mirnyi, pairing up for the first time, faced mid match jitters when they lost the second set but made up in the super tie-break to win 6-4, 3-6, 13-11.
They next face Slovakian Michal Mertinak and Croatia's Lovic Zovko, who beat German Michael Kohlmann and Ukraine's Sergy Stakhovsky 6-2, 3-6, 10-7.
