Kingfisher expands in domestic; Jet inflates overseas

Kingfisher Airlines, a leading private domestic airlines service provider and Jet Airways Country’s first and largest private airline service provider that provides flight services on the both field- domestic and International have separately expanded their services domestic and overseas respectively from Monday.

Kingfisher has introduced five new flight services in India while Jet Airways began an overseas service from Chhtrapati Shivaji international airport to Hong Kong from Monday.

In the domestic flight services, Kingfisher has launched its daily services: Delhi-Chandigarh-Mumbai flight, from New Delhi to Goa and Delhi to Hyderabad, from Mumbai to Ahmedabad and from Chennai to Coimbatore. Besides these, it had also increased the frequency of its Delhi-Hyderabad flight to thrice daily.

On the Commencement of these new services, Chairman and CEO of UB group, (the mother company of Kingfisher airlines) Vijay Mallya said in a statement, “Through the launch of these new routes, the airlines re-affirms its commitment towards addressing the needs of its guests by providing connectivity between important business and leisure destinations in India.”

The company is hoping to begin its overseas services soon, as Kingfisher official stated on the inaugural ceremony. After tying the knot with Deccan Airways, Kingfisher can get the licence of overseas inflates as per Ministry of Aviation has said in a statement few days before.

Meanwhile, the Kingfisher has now an extended service of 250 departures daily from 39 destinations with 42 aircrafts.

On the other hand, on the overseas route, Jet airways have launched its maiden flight 9W42 service to Hong Kong on Monday. The airline’s CEO Wolfgang Prock-Schauer has flagged off the maiden flight at Mumbai Airport.

As per decided schedule, the 9W42 flight took off at 01:00 hrs and reached Hong Kong International airport at 09:15 hrs while in the return flight, the 9W41 (Hong-Kong-Mumbai) would depart from Hong Kong International Airport at 1905 hrs and arrive at Chhatrapati Shivaji International Airport in Mumbai at 2310 hrs.

For this new international air route, Jet has deployed an Airbus 330-200 aircraft comprising Première and Economy class for Indian and overseas passengers.

After flagging off this new service, Wolfgang said, “We believe that Jet Airways’ product on the Mumbai-Hong Kong sector is among the finest in its class and will be much appreciated by passengers travelling on business between the two Asian financial hubs, as also those travelling for leisure.”

With this new launch, Jet Airways has marked 16 international destinations while soon it would begin another foreign service from Mumbai-Shanghai-San Francisco route. Shanghai will be the first Indian destination point for any airline services. This service will begins by May 05, 2008.

Jet Airways is the largest Indian private flight operator that currently operates a fleet of 81 aircraft including 10 Boeing 777-300 ER aircraft, 8 Airbus A330-200 aircraft, 54 classic and next generation Boeing 737-400/700/800/900 aircraft and 9 modern ATR 72-500 turboprop aircraft.

As per its official data, its average fleet age is 4.20 years and has flown over 80 million passengers since arrival in the aviation filed on May 1993. It currently operates over 380 flights daily.
