Golfer Ballesteros stable after brain surgery
Madrid, Oct 25 (DPA) Spanish former golfer Severiano Ballesteros is 'stable' following a second brain surgery, according to doctors treating him at the La Paz Hospital in Madrid.
During an operation which lasted over six hours here Friday, doctors proceeded to 'eliminate the edema and the tumoural remains' that could not be removed in a first instance last week.

The winner of five majors fainted Oct 6 at Madrid airport and was then diagnosed with a brain tumour.
Ballesteros, 51, underwent a 12-hour operation last week to remove the tumour, and edema made decompressive craniectomy necessary just 48 hours later. Decompressive craniectomy is performed to give the brain extra space and alleviate pressure within the skull.
The former Ryder Cup captain retired from golf last year after winning 87 tournaments, including three British Opens, as well as two US Masters.
