Mumbai, Oct 24 (ANI): Architecture from the 20s Art Deco style like the Chrysler Tower in New York and London buildings inspired designer Swapnil Shinde to design his Spring-Summer collection, showcased at the Lakme Fashion Week in Mumbai on Thursday.

Wonderful evening and formal wear dominated the collection with gowns and dresses in fabrics like dupion, tissue silk, chiffon, raw silk, georgette, satin and tulle creating sensation on the ramp.

Lots of drapes, pleating and wraps were used in the outfits to emphasize the theme and hint of shimmer and sheen were used to give a glamorous look to the garments.

"There was no name for my collection this time, but the inspiration I can say was from architecture," said Shinde.

Meanwhile, the wedding collection in bright hues by designer Abdul Halder, also made statement on the ramp.

Ethnic outfits for men and women like lehenga, dhotis, achkans dazzled the audiences.

A vibrant colour palette of purple, blue, pink, fuchsia, green, turq, red and orange, with gold and crystal embellishments all added to the beauty and glamour of the collection.

"Theme is 'happy you collection'. We've used lots of bright colours in it. We've made a happy collection which is lot of bling, lot of beautiful colours," said Abdulalder, Designer.

Around 75 designers are showcasing their collections in this season of the fashion week. (ANI)
