Two tanneries gutted in Kolkata

Kolkata, Oct 23 (IANS) Two tanneries were destroyed in a fire that broke out here Thursday morning, the fire brigade said.
The incident took place in the Tangra area of south Kolkata.
'There were huge amounts of combustible chemicals present in both the factories. Fire broke out in one of them around 9 a.m. and soon spread to the adjoining one,' a fire brigade official told reporters.
'Twenty-one fire engines were able to control the flames by 12 noon,' the official added.
No one was been injured in the accident.
