Election for president on July 19, counting on July 21
June 13: Election for the first citizen of the country will be held on July 19 while as counting is scheduled to be on July 21.
Announcing the schedule for the presidential poll, the election commission today announced that the process of electing the president will be held next month.

“The election itself is to be held on July 19, counting will take place on July 21,” stated a Election Commission.
Election commission stated that the notification for the polls would be issued on June 16 and the last date for filing of nominations would be June 30.
With notification, country will have a sigh of relief as it will end the curiosity and suspense raised by the political parties regarding their respective candidature for the inhabitant of Rashtrapati Bhawan. With notification, news channels might end their SMS “games” and “vote for your president” campaigns.
On July 2 the nomination papers will be scrutinized and candidates can withdraw their nominations till July 4.
After refusing to stand for second term President A P J Abdul Kalam will enjoy the role of president only till July 24.
