Langer to join Gilchrist for All Stars Twenty20 match
Sydney, Oct 23 (IANS) Former Test batsman Justin Langer has agreed to play under Adam Gilchrist for the All Stars' team in a Twenty20 match against ACA Masters in Brisbane, Nov 20.
Langer, who finished his impressive 105-Test career last year, made it clear that he will be out to make an impact when he pads up for the team featuring 'returning icon players'.
'I am really looking forward to playing for the All Stars and the opportunity to play on the big stage again. It will be fantastic to play alongside Gilly once again, and with former team mates and guys, I used to play against at the domestic level. I am sure it will be quite a show,' Langer was quoted as saying in The Daily Telegraph.
Cricket Australia (CA) and the Australian Cricketers' Association (ACA) are still finalising the line-ups. The teams will be named the week before the All Star Twenty20 match.
Gilchrist has been named as the All Stars captain.
'I cannot reveal who is going to be playing, but I can tell you it's going to be a fun and fast game to start the summer of cricket -- certainly worth returning for,' said Gilchrist, who played 96 Tests and 287 one-day internationals.
