Lagos, Oct 22 (IANS) India's Ankita Bhambri prevailed over eighth-seeded Russian Elena Chalova 6-2, 6-2 to move into the second round of $25,000 ITF event here.
Ankita next plays South African Surina De Beer, who swept aside Dutch qualifier Bouwiena Boer 6-0, 6-1.
It turned out to be a good day in office for Ankita, who teamed up with sister Sanaa to beat Italian Vivienne Vierin and South African Lisa Marsahall 6-4, 6-3 in the doubles.
Fourth-seeded Indian pair Rushmi Chakravarthi and Isha Lakhani got the better of Britain's Jodie Williams and Serbian Bojana Jovanovski 6-2, 6-3 to advance into the second round.
