Patna, Oct 22 (IANS) At least two dozen people, of them 23 women, were drowned when a boat capsized Wednesday in river Ganga in Bihar's Khagaria district, officials here said.
Khagaria District Magistrate U.N. Thakur said bodies of 24 people were recovered during rescue operations. Four people managed to swim ashore.
Thakur said the boat overturned due to over crowding. All the victims were identified as poor farm labourers from a nearby village.
