Vice President congrats space scientists for Chandrayaan-1's launch
New Delhi, Oct 22 (ANI): Vice President Hamid Ansari today said that our space scientists have made the country proud with this extraordinary achievement that expands our scientific knowledge about the moon and demonstrates the high level of technological capabilities of our scientists.
Congratulating the space scientists for the successful launch of Chandrayaan-1, Ansari said, " I am happy to know that the first Indian mission to the Moon, Chandrayaan-1 has been successfully launched from Sriharikota Range putting into orbit 1,400 kg. satellite by the PSLV-XL launch vehicle."
In his separate message, Defence Minister AK Antony described the mission as a bold step to catapult India to the select group of nations having the capability to undertake such scientific missions of gigantic nature.
Antony spoke to the Chairman of ISRO, Dr. G. Madhavan Nair over phone and said the country is proud of the achievements of ISRO scientists.
The Minister wished all success to the scientists in the next stages of the mission. (ANI)
