Springsteen and Joel raise $7 mn for Obama
New York, Oct 21 (DPA) With some tickets priced at $25,000, the seminal concert last week by legendary rockers Bruce Springsteen and Billy Joel was always destined to be a huge fundraiser for Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama.
On Monday the New York Daily News reported that the concert Thursday at New York's Hammerstein Ballroom raised a staggering $7 million for the campaign.

News of the bonanza came the same day that the Obama campaign reported that it had raised a record $150 million in the month of September, giving it a powerful spending boost in the last weeks of the election cycle.
The Change Rocks concert was the first ever joint performance by Springsteen and Joel and also featured India.Arie, John Legend, and Springsteen's wife Patti Scialfa. Nearly 2,000 people attended the show, tickets were priced between $500 and $2,500.
