London, Mon, 20 Oct 2008 ANI

London, October 20 (ANI): Sir Andrew Lloyd Webber will be composing Britain's entry for the Eurovision Song Contest next year in a bid to restore beleaguered pride of the country.

He will also help to pick the UK's next Eurovision entry.

Following a string of UK's failing results at 'Eurovision', the British composer along with other music industry professionals, shall choose the top six from entries sent to the BBC's 'Your Country Needs You'.

The selection show, which will be hosted by Graham Morton to hunt down the new talent for the 2009 competition, will see the winning singer or group as voted by the viewers.

Lord Lloyd Webber, who has been acclaimed for his hits such as 'Don't Cry For Me Argentina', revealed that he was eager to be a part of the selection process.

"Win, lose or draw, I am looking forward to every minute of it," BBC quoted him as saying.

He further added: "In my life I have never shied away from the impossible and this looks like the biggest mission impossible of all time.

"But with the might of the BBC and the British public behind me (not to mention Graham Norton) who knows what will happen?" (ANI)
