London, Oct 19 (IANS) American film and TV actress Eva Longoria Parker has hit back at claims that she is pregnant or fat - insisting she is merely "a little rounder" after giving up exercise over the summer.
The "Desperate Housewives" star has been the subject of persistent rumours since stepping out in a number of loose fitting outfits recently, reports dailymail.co.uk.
"I've stopped working out and gained about seven pounds over the summer, which is a lot for a small person," the 33-year-old actress said in an interview with US beauty magazine Allure.
Longoria went on to attack the critics who have scrutinised her weight gain and added: "It's like 'Oh my God. She's fat'. I hate that message they're sending out to young women everywhere who think 'God, she's a size zero and she's still too big. I never went up a size. I just got a little rounder."
The actress is now paying attention to her health by cutting out meat and chicken and eating just fish, which she said has made her skin 'amazing'.
She has also returned to exercise, hitting the gym fives times a week and following a core-strengthening regime with her trainer Patrick Murphy.
