Exceptional bowling performances by spinners Naved Hussain (4/20) and Babloo Kumar (5/14) guided Young friends club to beat Little Master club by 47 runs to enter the semi-final of the 7th CL Gupta memorial Prem Lata Trophy cricket tournament. Naved Hussain was named Puma man of the match for his outstanding bowling spell.

Brief scores: Young Friends: 180 for 9 in 20 overs: Rohit Choudhary 42, Deepak Sharma 39, Soumya Azad not out 30, Pankaj Joshi 3 for 32, Mrinal Saini 3 for 33.

Little Master: 133 in 16.5 overs: Pankaj Joshi 31, Rajeev Rathore 30, Babloo Kumar 5 for 14, Naved Hussain 4 for 20.

MCD beats DDCA XI in Star cricket

Deadly bowling by Ajay Tiwari (3/14) and good knock of 37 runs by Prayag Raj helped MCD beat DDCA XI by 3 wickets in the league match of the Star inter office Corporate cricket tournament played at the Saket sports complex ground. Prayag Raj was awarded man of the match.

Brief Scores: DDCA XI: 119 in 16.3 overs: Madan Sharma 34, Raju Sharma 20, Ajay Tiwari 3 for 14, HK Yadav 3 for 16, Karan Harit 2 for 36, Kapil Sharma 2 for 20.

MCD: 120 for 7 in 18.5 overs: Prayag Raj 37, Karan Harit 36, Mahesh Bhati 3 for 35, Ravinder Bhandari 3 for 38.

Network 18 wins Inter-media cricket tournament

Network 18 claimed the title of inter-media cricket tournament as they defeated NDTV by five wickets in the final played at the Jamia Millia ground. Left-arm spinner Dinesh Chandra of Network 18 was declared the best bowler of the tournament while Amitoze Singh of NDTV was declared as the best batsman.

Brief Scores: NDTV: 136 for eight in 20 overs (Amitoze Singh 42, Mahavir Rawat 35) lost to Network 18: 137 for five in 18.3 overs (Savant Karautiya 37).

Football clinics for budding footballers

Two five-day football clinics for upcoming footballers of the capital will be organised in the age group of nine to 18 between April 7 and 16. Three trainers from Coerver Southeast USA will hold these clinics.

Sonnet posts win in AGDAV cricket

A fine unbeaten knock of 41 runs by Karthik Sehrawat and Shiv Kumar's 4/15 helped Sonnet Club beat Crifit Academy by 9 wickets in the 1st AGDAV under-14 cricket tournament.

Brief scores: Crifit Academy: 72 in 28 overs (Shiv Kumar 4/15) lost to Sonnet Club: 73 for 1 in 18 overs (Karthik Sehrawat 41 n.o.)
